PM Industries is a manufacturer, supplier, and stockist of AMS 4170 aluminum 5754 sheet and plate, a non-heat-treatable aluminum-magnesium alloy from the 5xxx series known for corrosion resistance, weldability, and a steady balance of mechanical properties. 5754, also designated EN AW-5754 and AlMg3, draws its strength from magnesium at roughly 2.6 to 3.6%, with controlled amounts of manganese, silicon, iron, and chromium. It does not need heat treatment to reach its working strength, which keeps it simple to process and dependable in service across marine, structural, and general fabrication work.

ASTM B209 Aluminum 5086 Plates, Aluminum 5086 Industrial Sheets and Plates, Aluminum 5086 Ring, ASME SB209 Aluminum 5086 Perforated Sheets Stockholder, Aluminum 5086 Foil, Aluminum 5086 Sheet, Supplier in India.

The alloy holds up where conditions are hard on metal. It resists seawater, industrial pollutants, and atmospheric corrosion, and it keeps its structural integrity in moist or chemically aggressive settings, which is why engineers often choose it over lower-strength grades such as 5251. Physical properties include a density around 2.66 to 2.67 g/cm3, a melting point near 600 degrees C, thermal conductivity of about 147 W/m·K, and a modulus of elasticity near 68 to 70 GPa. Those figures pair with good formability and workability, so the material rolls, bends, and machines without much trouble and takes complex shapes without losing structural integrity.

Mechanical properties shift with temper, with O, H111, H22, H24, and H114 among the common ones. In the widely used H22 temper, 5754 typically gives a proof (yield) stress of at least 130 MPa, ultimate tensile strength of 220 to 270 MPa, and elongation of 7 to 15% or more depending on thickness. Softer tempers give more ductility for forming. Strain-hardened tempers raise strength for load-bearing parts. Fatigue resistance and toughness stay dependable, which supports use in parts that see repeated load.

Common uses for 5754 sheet and plate cover shipbuilding and marine structures, vehicle bodies and truck flooring, tread plate for anti-slip surfaces, food processing equipment, chemical storage tanks, and welded assemblies in offshore, nuclear, and architectural projects. It welds well by arc, gas, and other methods, and the welds keep their corrosion resistance, which makes complex fabrication straightforward. The alloy also responds well to decorative anodizing, which opens up design options that many high-strength grades cannot match.

Where AMS 4170 is called out, it sets a consistent quality level for secondary structures, panels, and components that need light weight, corrosion protection, and steady properties. PM Industries supplies 5754 sheets and plates in a range of thicknesses, from thin sheet to heavier plate, along with various widths and lengths to match precise engineering requirements. With medium-to-high strength, strong corrosion performance, and easy fabrication, 5754 stays a practical, cost-effective choice across transportation, construction, and industrial work, and its recyclability adds to its appeal in modern manufacturing.

When specifying 5754 sheet or plate, call out the required temper, the thickness and tolerances, the surface condition, and the certification tests you need, including chemical analysis and mechanical testing. Clear callouts on these points keep the delivered material aligned with both design intent and procurement requirements.

PM Industries manufactures, supplies, and stocks AMS 4170 aluminum 5754 sheet and plate in a range of tempers, thicknesses, and finishes. Contact our team for sizes, certification, and lead times on your next order.
