PM Industries manufactures, supplies, and stocks Hastelloy X Round Bar (UNS N06002). It's a nickel-chromium-iron-molybdenum alloy with a cobalt addition, developed for high-temperature service where oxidation resistance, fabricability, and mechanical strength all need to work together. Solid-solution strengthening from the molybdenum and the balanced composition gives it good strength retention across a wide temperature range without the fabrication difficulties associated with gamma-prime strengthened superalloys.

Hastelloy X has been a standard alloy in aerospace gas turbine applications for decades. It's one of the most widely used and well-characterized high-temperature nickel alloys in production, which gives engineers a large body of field data to draw from when specifying it for new applications.

Oxidation resistance is consistent and well proven across the alloy's operating range. In combustion gas environments, hot air streams, and industrial furnace atmospheres, Hastelloy X maintains surface integrity over long service intervals. Carburization and nitriding resistance add further protection in furnace applications where the atmosphere chemistry varies or is carbon-rich.

Weldability is one of the practical advantages that keeps Hastelloy X specified for fabricated components. Many high-temperature alloys with comparable strength are significantly harder to weld without cracking. Hastelloy X tolerates standard welding procedures well, which makes it suitable for combustor assemblies, fabricated transition ducts, and other welded structures that other superalloys would complicate considerably.

Creep resistance is adequate for the mid-temperature range. At the extreme upper end of the temperature scale, gamma-prime alloys like Haynes 282 or Waspaloy carry higher loads more efficiently. But for applications in the 870°C to 1100°C range where fabricability matters as much as creep performance, Hastelloy X hits a practical balance that few alloys match.
