PM Industries manufactures, supplies, and stocks Hastelloy G30 Round Bar (UNS N06030). It's a nickel-chromium-iron alloy with additions of molybdenum, copper, cobalt, tungsten, and niobium, developed for service in highly oxidizing acid environments where most nickel alloys and stainless steels corrode too quickly to be practical.

The high chromium content, around 29–31%, is what gives G30 its advantage in oxidizing acid service. That's considerably higher than alloys like C-276 or 625, and it's the reason G30 outperforms those grades in nitric acid and mixed acid environments while still maintaining good resistance to reducing conditions through its molybdenum and copper content.

Phosphoric acid service is one of the primary applications for G30. Wet process phosphoric acid systems are particularly aggressive, combining oxidizing conditions with fluoride, chloride, and sulfate contamination. G30 handles that combination better than most competing alloys, which is why it's heavily specified in fertilizer production and phosphoric acid plant equipment.

Nitric acid resistance is similarly strong. In high-concentration nitric acid and mixed acid environments, the elevated chromium content provides a level of protection that lower-chromium nickel alloys simply can't match. G30 is also resistant to the nitric-hydrofluoric acid mixtures used in metal pickling operations, which are among the more aggressive process streams encountered in chemical manufacturing.

Pitting and crevice corrosion resistance is good. In process equipment with stagnant zones, crevices at flanges, or tube-to-tubesheet joints, localized attack is often the failure mode that ends component service life. G30's resistance to that type of attack extends service intervals and reduces unplanned maintenance.

Fabricability is practical. G30 can be welded, machined, and formed using procedures appropriate for nickel-based alloys. Weld filler ERNiCrMo-11 is typically used to maintain corrosion resistance across the weld zone.
