PM Industries manufactures, supplies, and stocks Inconel X750 Round Bar (UNS N07750). It's a precipitation-hardenable nickel-chromium alloy strengthened by aluminum and titanium additions that form gamma-prime precipitates during age hardening. X750 is one of the older members of the Inconel family, with a long history in aerospace and nuclear applications dating back to the 1940s. That history means its properties are very well characterized across a wide range of service conditions, which gives engineers confidence when specifying it for critical applications.
What distinguishes X750 from other age-hardenable nickel alloys like 718 is its combination of good high-temperature strength with particularly good spring and relaxation properties. Springs and fasteners that must maintain their mechanical load over long periods at elevated temperatures need an alloy that doesn't relax significantly under sustained stress. X750 handles that requirement well, which is why it's been a standard spring alloy in gas turbine and aerospace applications for decades.
Temperature range versatility is genuine. X750 maintains useful mechanical properties from cryogenic service down to liquid hydrogen temperatures, where toughness rather than strength is often the constraint, through elevated-temperature service up to approximately 700°C. Few alloys cover that full range dependably, which explains why X750 appears in both cryogenic storage hardware and hot-section aerospace components.
Spring relaxation resistance is the property that makes X750 the preferred material for high-temperature springs and spring-loaded components. A spring that loses load over time under heat changes the behavior of the system it's in. In turbine seals, fuel control systems, and pressure-loaded assemblies, that relaxation can directly affect performance or safety margins. X750 maintains spring force more effectively under those conditions than most competing alloys at equivalent strength levels.
Fatigue performance supports the rotating and dynamically loaded component applications common in aerospace and power generation. X750 is used for turbine blades, vanes, and structural hardware that cycle through stress continuously during operation. Its fatigue strength supports the inspection intervals that operators require.
Nuclear service is a significant application area. X750 is used for reactor internals, hold-down springs, and structural components in both pressurized water and boiling water reactor designs, where radiation resistance, corrosion performance in high-temperature water, and long-term mechanical reliability are all required simultaneously.
