That build resists general corrosion, pitting, and hydrogen-induced stress cracking (HISC) from constant saltwater exposure and sour crudes carrying hydrogen sulfide (H2S). The sealing uses a ring-joint geometry with specialized BX or SBX metal gasket rings. Those gaskets seal metal face to metal face, so the connection stays sealed and stable under vibration and changing thermal stress.
