PM Industries manufactures, supplies, and stocks Haynes HR-160 Round Bar. It's a cobalt-nickel-chromium alloy developed for continuous service in high-temperature, sulfidizing, and oxidizing environments. Unlike many cobalt superalloys that rely heavily on tungsten for strengthening, HR-160 uses silicon as a key alloying addition, which contributes directly to its sulfidation and hot corrosion resistance.

HR-160 is specified when the service environment combines high heat with aggressive gas chemistry. Standard nickel alloys and stainless steels struggle in those conditions. This alloy doesn't.
Sulfidation resistance is where HR-160 stands apart from many competing high-temperature alloys. In environments where sulfur-containing gases are present alongside high heat, most alloys degrade faster than their oxidation resistance ratings would suggest. HR-160's silicon-enhanced composition addresses that directly, making it a practical choice for waste incineration, industrial furnace, and chemical processing equipment where sulfur exposure is part of the service condition.
Thermal fatigue resistance matters for components that cycle between ambient and operating temperature repeatedly. Parts that only see steady-state heat are easier to specify for. Components that heat and cool constantly need an alloy that won't develop surface cracking or lose structural integrity through those cycles. HR-160 handles that well.
Creep resistance is good across the alloy's operating range. Components holding load at temperature over long service intervals maintain dimensional stability without progressive deformation, which is critical for precision hardware in turbines, combustion systems, and thermal processing equipment.
Fabricability is better than many cobalt superalloys. With proper tooling and parameters, HR-160 can be machined, formed, and welded into complex component geometries. That makes it practical for fabricated assemblies and precision parts, not just simple bar stock applications.
