Alloy Steel A182 F5 Flanges | UNS K41545 | DIN 1.7362
PM Industries manufactures, supplies, and stocks ASTM A182 F5 flanges, chromium-molybdenum forged parts built for high temperature and high pressure in hard industrial service. Made to ASTM A182, Grade F5 (5Cr-0.5Mo) resists oxidation, scaling, and hydrogen attack, which is why it is a common pick for refinery, petrochemical, power generation, and boiler work. The chemistry runs about 4.0 to 6.0 percent chromium and 0.44 to 0.65 percent molybdenum, with carbon held to 0.15 percent maximum and controlled manganese, silicon, phosphorus, and sulfur. That mix gives good creep strength and thermal stability at temperatures up to about 650°C.
The grade carries solid mechanical properties, with a minimum tensile strength of 655 MPa, minimum yield strength of 345 MPa, and elongation of at least 20 percent. The flanges come in weld neck, blind, slip-on, socket weld, and threaded types, made to ASME B16.5 and other recognized standards. Sizes usually run from 1/2 inch to 48 inches across pressure classes from 150 to 2500, with facing types such as Raised Face and Ring Type Joint for reliable sealing under hard conditions.
The chromium raises corrosion and oxidation resistance in sulfur-bearing environments, and the molybdenum adds high-temperature strength and resistance to graphitization. That makes A182 F5 flanges a good fit for piping that carries steam, hydrocarbons, and other aggressive media in heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and superheater headers. Forging gives a fine-grained structure that improves toughness and fatigue resistance, which matters in lines that see cyclic loading.
PM Industries supplies certified ASTM A182 F5 flanges with full material traceability and EN 10204 3.1 or 3.2 test certificates. The grade is a cost-effective step below higher stainless or nickel alloys where you need moderate corrosion resistance with strong high-temperature performance. Correct heat treatment during manufacturing sets the mechanical properties and keeps weldability good, so the flanges join cleanly into complex piping. Engineers and fabricators use F5 in fossil-fuel power plants, chemical processing units, and oil refineries for its record of reliable service. As a manufacturer, supplier, and stockist, PM Industries ships standard and custom A182 F5 flanges against fast quotes.
