Alloy steel ASTM A182 F1 flanges are forged carbon-molybdenum components built for moderate to high-temperature service in piping, valves, and pressure-containing parts. Under the ASTM A182 specification, Grade F1, often called C-½ Mo, gives you better creep resistance and elevated-temperature strength than plain carbon steel. The chemistry tells the story: carbon up to 0.15-0.30%, manganese 0.30-0.60%, silicon up to 0.50%, molybdenum around 0.40-0.60%, with phosphorus and sulfur held low for cleaner toughness and weldability. That mix delivers good oxidation resistance and steady mechanical performance in steam and hydrocarbon service. PM Industries manufactures, supplies, and stocks these flanges in a full range of types, sizes, and classes.

We produce A182 F1 flanges in standard configurations, including weld neck, blind, slip-on, socket weld, and threaded, all to ASME B16.5 dimensions. They cover pressure classes from 150 to 2500 and sizes from ½" to 48", with raised face and ring-type joint facings among the common options. Mechanical properties usually land around 485-655 MPa tensile strength, 205-517 MPa yield, and 17-20% elongation, depending on heat treatment. That combination suits power generation, refineries, chemical processing, and boiler systems running at moderate temperatures.

The molybdenum is what does the heavy lifting at temperature. It improves high-temperature performance and resistance to graphitization and hydrogen attack, all without the cost jump of higher-chrome grades. We forge, heat treat, and test every F1 flange to keep the microstructure uniform and the performance reliable under pressure and thermal cycling. Good weldability means the flanges drop into existing piping with matching filler metals and no drama.

PM Industries supplies certified ASTM A182 F1 flanges with full material traceability and test certificates. They give you better elevated-temperature properties than carbon steel without paying for 5Cr or 9Cr grades, which is why they are trusted on steam lines, heat exchangers, and moderate-pressure vessels. We hold stock for urgent maintenance and new construction alike. Tell us your flange type, size, class, face, and rating, and we will quote it.
